Abstract


Objectives: This study aims to compare the perceptions of the two groups by grasping the perceptions of the general public and dental hygienists about e-cigarettes and establishing correct perceptions and knowledge.

Methods: This study was conducted on 300 ordinary people and 200 dental hygienists from October 1st to November 1st. The research tool consisted of questions about the general characteristics of the subject, e-cigarette recognition questions and factors related to smoking cessation guidance. IBM spss 25.0 was used for statistical analysis, and frequency analysis, cross-analysis, T-test, and correlation analysis were performed.

Results: E-cigarette recognition is 2.69¡¾0.83 for the general public and 3.08¡¾0.52 for dental hygienists. The e-cigarette knowledge is 1.39¡¾0.35, and 1.70¡¾0.32, a dental hygienist.

Conclusions: It aims to seek proper awareness and knowledge of e-cigarettes to the general public, present the direction of oral health education, and provide basic data for efficient smoking cessation guidance by dental hygienists.
